Light Boxes

A CLEAR MESSAGE, DAY OR NIGHT.

A light box pairs an illuminated face with a clean, defined shape. It can work as a primary storefront sign or as a secondary sign that makes an entrance easier to spot.

PROUD TO WORK WITH

We Are Trusted By Global & Local Brands

WHY IT MATTERS

A bright, clear message that works day and night.

A light box glows evenly from edge to edge, so your logo and name stay readable long after the sun goes down. It is one of the most cost-effective ways to add illumination to your business.

Light boxes are also practical. When your branding changes, you can often replace just the face instead of the whole sign.

THE BASICS

What is a light box sign?

A light box, also called a cabinet sign, is a weather-sealed metal box with LED lighting inside and a translucent face on the front. The light shines through the face, making the whole graphic glow. Light boxes can be single-sided on a wall or double-sided as a projecting blade sign.

How a light box is built

01

Cabinet

An aluminum frame that holds everything and protects it from weather.

02

LED Modules

Energy-efficient lights spaced for even, bright illumination.

03

Face

Polycarbonate, acrylic, or flex face with your printed or vinyl graphics.

04

Power Supply

Converts building power and connects to a switch or timer.

OPTIONS

Light box options for your business

01

Single-Sided

Mounted flat against a wall, facing the street or parking lot.

02

Double-Sided Blade

Projects from the wall so people walking from either direction can see it.

03

Shaped Cabinet

Custom-cut to the outline of your logo for a more unique look.

04

Push-Through

Letters push through a routed face so only the copy glows. A premium option.

MAKE IT YOURS

Customize the size, shape, and glow.

Rule of thumb

Dark backgrounds with light, glowing letters usually read better at night than a fully white face, and they reduce glare.

Shape
Rectangle, oval, circle, or a custom shape cut to your logo.
Depth
Slim profiles for walls or deeper cabinets for larger faces.
Face
Polycarbonate for impact resistance, acrylic for clarity, or flex face for large sizes.
Graphics
Translucent vinyl or direct print in your exact brand colors.
Lighting
LED modules with timers or photocells for automatic on and off.
Finish
Cabinet painted to match your building or brand.

INSTALLATION

Ways to mount a light box

01

Wall Mount

Fastened flat to the facade with wiring routed through the wall.

02

Projecting Bracket

Hung on a bracket perpendicular to the building for two-way visibility.

03

Pole or Monument

Mounted on a post or base near the road or parking entrance.

PRICING

What do light boxes cost? Here’s what drives the price.

Every project is quoted for its size, materials, and location, so we don’t publish one-size-fits-all prices. Share a few details and we’ll send a clear, itemized quote before anything is made. No surprises.

What affects the price

  • Cabinet size and depth
  • Single-sided or double-sided
  • Standard rectangle or custom shape
  • Face type and graphic method
  • Mounting method and installation height
  • Electrical work and permit requirements

PLAN AHEAD

Good to know before you order

A little planning makes a light box project smooth from start to finish.

  • You’ll need a power source near the sign location
  • Most illuminated signs need a sign permit
  • Existing cabinets can often be refaced instead of replaced
  • Timers or photocells save energy automatically
  • LED lighting runs cooler and uses less power than old fluorescent tubes

Have an old fluorescent light box? Ask us about an LED retrofit to brighten it and lower your energy use.

GOOD TO KNOW

Questions about light boxes? We’ve got answers.

Still wondering about something? or call 631.727.8311.

Can you replace just the face of my existing light box?

Often, yes. If the cabinet is in good condition, we can measure it and make a new face with your updated graphics.

How long do LED light boxes last?

Quality LED modules typically run for many years with little maintenance. If something stops working, we can service it.

Can you convert my fluorescent sign to LED?

Yes. An LED retrofit usually makes the sign brighter, more even, and cheaper to run.

Does a light box need a permit?

Usually, yes. We handle the permit drawings and application for you.

Can the sign turn on and off by itself?

Yes. We can add a timer or a photocell that switches the sign on at dusk.

What is a double-sided light box?

It is a cabinet with faces on both sides, usually mounted on a bracket so people coming from either direction can read it.
